Abstract

This article presents the experience of using the "Pizza of Historical Knowledge" project as an innovative strategy for teaching History in Middle and High School. The proposal aimed to change the way the subject, often considered difficult, is perceived, bringing a playful and meaningful approach to learning. Based on active methodologies and project-based learning, the action aimed, above all, to foster student agency and the independent construction of knowledge. The methodology consisted of segmenting the historical content into "slices," using repurposed pizza boxes as visual support. The students, in groups, researched, produced the material, and presented their work in a creative and enacted manner, resulting in an exhibition fair for the entire school community. The results showed high levels of student engagement, highlighting the project's capacity to encourage learning, creativity, and collaboration. Furthermore, the action stood out for its inclusive nature, enabling the participation of students with special educational needs, and for incorporating environmental awareness. Despite some practical challenges, such as difficulty accessing resources, the project established itself as an efficient and inspiring strategy, capable of transforming History teaching into a pleasant and unforgettable experience.
