ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN THE POLITICAL-PEDAGOGICAL PROJECTS (PPP) OF MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS IN CAMPO GRANDE/MS: CHALLENGES AND POSSIBILITIES

The urgency of the environmental perspective for the human future, coupled with the growing human intervention in nature, generates tensions that threaten biodiversity. Overcoming these systemic contradictions involves culture and education. This study aimed to articulate the premises of Environmental Education (EE) present in legislation and educational documents with the Pedagogical Political Projects (PPPs) of schools in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. Using a qualitative and documentary methodology, the research was guided by content analysis (Bardin, 2016) and a deductive hermeneutics. The results revealed that most projects listed as EE in the researched schools do not possess the characteristic elements of the official proposals, indicating a lack of understanding from the institutions in defining concrete strategies. The study contributes to elucidating the inaccuracies in the way Environmental Education is being proposed in formal educational settings, aiming for the effective compliance with the legislation on the topic.
