SAMUZINHO PROJECT IN SCHOOLS: FIRST AID EDUCATION IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This study reports on the experience of the "Samuzinho Project," developed by the Emergency Education Center of SAMU 192 in Coaraci-BA, and analyzes its contribution to the education of children. It is justified by the scarcity of studies on expanded first aid education, beyond CPR, and by the need to strengthen the culture of prevention in elementary education. This is an experience report with activities carried out in 15 schools, involving 834 children, using active methodologies, practical simulations, playful materials, and visits to ambulances. The results indicated greater autonomy, risk recognition, positive behavioral changes, and practical application of knowledge. Advances in socio-emotional skills, a sense of citizenship, and integration between school, families, and the SAMU team were also observed. The project proved to be an effective health education strategy, contributing to safer school environments and to the formation of children prepared to act in emergencies.
