Neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), are often characterized by their cognitive, social, and behavioral deficits. However, a growing body of scientific evidence, particularly from studies published between 2024 and 2025, suggests that motor dysfunctions may be intrinsic and fundamental dimensions of these disorders, rather than mere comorbidities. This narrative review argues that psychomotor therapy, supported by a solid theoretical basis in embodied cognition and validated by recent studies, should be considered a relevant pillar, rather than merely complementary, in the treatment of individuals with NDDs. By focusing on the inseparable relationship between body, movement, and mind, psychomotor intervention offers a promising therapeutic pathway to improve not only motor skills but also cognitive functions, performance in daily activities, and potentially the core symptoms of the disorders themselves.
