Objective: To evaluate the dynamic balance of university female volleyball athletes compared to sedentary women. Methods: The total sample consisted of 24 participants, aged between 18 and 35 years, divided into two groups: 12 university female volleyball athletes and 12 women classified as sedentary, according to the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). To assess dynamic balance, the Y-Balance Test (YBT) and the Side Hop Test were selected. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0, and a significance level of 5% was adopted. Results: The university female volleyball athletes showed significantly greater reach values for the non-dominant lower limb in the anterior direction (p=0.018) and in the posteromedial (p=0.009) and posterolateral (p=0.017) directions with the dominant lower limb, compared to sedentary women. No statistically significant differences were observed for the other variables. There were no significant differences between the reach values of the dominant and non-dominant lower limbs for any of the tested variables. Both groups had composite scores lower than those determined by the literature. Conclusion: It is concluded that university female volleyball athletes have higher average reach values in the anterior direction with the non-dominant lower limb and in the posteromedial and posterolateral directions with the dominant lower limb, suggesting that regular volleyball practice contributes to balance function.
